THIS MAKES ME SICK!
Ebay seller griega has copied dozens of my jpg scans posted online, made small 4”X6” prints of them and listed them on ebay at typically a starting bid of $14.00. This scan of George and Pattie arriving at the Apple Tailoring shop launch party on May 22, 1968 I made from a book photo years ago is currently bid up to $43.00! The whole book can be had for much cheaper and the photo is full page size, not 4”X6”. I feel sorry for these unsuspecting buyers being ripped-off like this. They could copy any online scan and make their own print for about a dollar or less. Unfortunately ebay now makes it impossible to contact other bidders or I would warn them. And copyrights don’t really apply to such old material. Hopefully a few of griega’s customers will see this before they waste their money.

OH MY GOD! I had a feeling this was going on… This is INSANE! People should spread this around! Don’t fall for the scam. And 43 dollars? HA!
UPDATE - The final winning bid was $57.00! I tried to warn the two victims bidding on this auction by searching seller griega’s feedback list and looking for bidders with the same number of feedback points as the bidders for the auction. I found them quickly, as they both were frequent customers of griega, and sent emails to them via ebay. No good deed goes unpunished… I received a warning from ebay about Interfering with a Transaction. I knew you couldn’t contact another member to try and buy or sell outside the official auction, but I wasn’t selling anything! No harm done to me… but the winning victim gets to pay $57.00 to griega for a jpg photo they could have had for practically free! griega has sold this same scan before (plus many other dozens of my scans) and will probably list it again.

Garden Swing
Summer 1967 - Pattie & George sitting in the garden swing at Brian Epstein’s country estate, Kingsley Hill, in Warbleton, Heathfield, Sussex. They were previously photographed in the same swing in 1965 (with Ringo & Maureen) on the rooftop patio of Brian’s Belgravia, London townhouse. With them is the same doll Pattie was holding at Abbey Road studios during filming of “All You Need Is Love” for the Our World satellite broadcast on June 25, 1967. Scan originally from Bonham’s auction website website January 15, 2008. Extensive retouching to the very dark and damaged photo by me.
I met George briefly when I was a teenager. He was in the parking lot behind the Hollywood Bowl, going to his car after attending a Ravi Shankar concert. He was with Pattie, his wife at the time, and both of them were incredibly kind and gracious! He was soft spoken, very patient as I babbled on about what a fan I was, and he never once gave the impression that we were intruding on his privacy (which I’m sure we were). The thing that stood out the most, and almost left me a little speechless for a few seconds, was the genuine warmth and kindness in his eyes. It’s still one of my life’s best memories.

New York City
Late November 1968 - A rare photo of George and Pattie on a New York street near Thanksgiving shortly before they returned home to England after their extended U.S. visit. George in black leather and Pattie keeping warm in a black fur hat with a shaggy fur coat on the cold windy fall evening. Official Beatles Fan Club member Kathy Dakis took the photo and sent it to London - where George and Pattie flipped over it. The fan club offered 8X10” copies of the photo to members for 50 cents each.

April 1968 - After leaving Maharishi’s ashram in Rishikesh George and Pattie traveled to southern India to visit with Ravi Shankar before returning to England. Pattie took an intimate photo of her husband: “He was lying in the hotel room bed - and I loved the light. He’s so good looking,” Pattie commented about her photograph.
