Around The World in 80 Days
March 23, 1968 - Ringo and Maureen enjoying the post screening after-party at the Dorchester Hotel in London celebrating the re-issue of the 1956 classic film, Around The World in 80 Days, with their hostess Elizabeth Taylor, Russian ballet star Rudolf Nureyev and actress Mia Farrow. Meanwhile John, Cynthia, George & Pattie were still in India meditating in Rishikesh and Paul & Jane were on their way back to London via a stopover in Teheran, Iran for a couple of days of shopping. May 1968 - Mia Farrow and Ringo Starr behind their cameras in Church Square, Shepperton photographed by Henry Grossman from his book, Places I Remember: My Time With the Beatles. Ringo, Maureen, Mia Farrow and Henry Grossman spent the day together, first visiting at Ringo and Maureen’s home, Sunny Heights, then going out for a meal together at a restaurant in Church Square, and then they all went back to Mia’s house where they were joined by George and Pattie.

May 1968 - Henry Grossman photos featured in (US) Photoplay magazine, November 1968 issue of the Starkey’s and Harrison’s visiting Mia Farrow at her rented home located near the Starkey’s Weybridge, Surrey, home. Mia is trying on the wig from her movie, Secret Ceremony, then filming in London with Elizabeth Taylor. Many new photos taken on this day are featured in Henry Grossman’s new book, but these two photos are not.

March 23, 1968 - Ringo and Maureen enjoying the post screening party hosted by Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton at London’s Dorchester Hotel in honor of the re-release of the 1956 classic, Around The World in 80 Days, screened at the Coliseum Theatre. Ringo and Maureen (right) with their hostess Elizabeth Taylor, Russian ballet star Rudolf Nureyev and actress Mia Farrow (whom they’d met in India the previous month). Four months earlier the Starkeys had met Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton in Rome during the filming of Candy and became friends. Elizabeth Taylor and Mia Farrow were currently filming Secret Ceremony in London. Meanwhile John, Cynthia, George & Pattie were still in Rishikesh, India meditating, and Paul & Jane Asher were en route back to London via a brief visit to Teheran, Iran.
