Circa Summer 1965 - Official Beatles Fan Club President and long time friend of the Beatles, Freda Kelly, visited with Ringo and Maureen during her vacation. Expectant mum Maureen had previously worked with Freda helping out at the Beatles’ Fan Club offices in Liverpool.

February 12, 1965 - In the back garden of their borrowed honeymoon house in Hove, Maureen and Ringo held hands and posed for the world’s press on the day after their wedding.

Newmarket December Bloodstock Sales

Tuesday, November. 30, 1965 - The Starkey’s arrived at 9 am for the Newmarket December Bloodstock sales. Maureen & Ringo looked over the stock but didn’t buy a horse. “I don’t know anything about horses and I don’t intend to get one,” Ringo told reporters. “The only thing that’ll make me remember the Sales is that I got up at 9 a.m. to get here.” The Starkey’s bought a couple of Scotches, stayed only 15 minutes, and then left in a red Rolls Royce with their two friends to have lunch with former Queen’s jockey Harry Carr.
