The Winter’s Tale
August 1966 - Jane Asher and her co-star David Weston in a publicity pose for The Winter’s Tale. Jane portrayed Perdita (Weston portrayed Florizel and Archidamas) in Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale at the Edinburgh Festival in August 1966, with Laurence Harvey starring as Leontes, and followed that with a critically acclaimed run in London’s West End at the Cambridge Theatre starting on September 30, 1966. During November 1966 The Winter’s Tale was filmed for the cinema - but it was never theatrically released. In 1968 The Winter’s Tale was finally released by Warner Brothers and screened in private venues - such as college campus theaters.
